Piedmont Environmental Council - Meet the Farmer dinner!
Purchase tickets for a local food feast on
June 29th. All proceeds will benefit our Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign.
Join us for a celebration of local food, wine,
beer, and regional music at King Family Vineyards on Friday, June 29th at our
Meet the Farmer: Eat Like a King dinner. Three outstanding chefs will create
delicious plates featuring the summer bounty of our local, sustainable
producers. Farmers will also be on hand to chat about what they do and why
it's important to reclaim our food system.
All proceeds from this fundraiser will benefit
our Buy Fresh Buy Local campaign -- a successful program that strives to
deepen the connection between local producers and consumers.

Farm intern position includes hands
on experience with medicinals and some produce 1-2 days per week on a
beautiful farm in Nelson County, VA. Duties will include weeding,
garden bed preparation, mulching, seed sowing, plant propagation, harvesting,
drying and medicine making. Compensation will be the experience gained,
medicinal herbs and occasional produce, and possible payment for harvest of
milky oats in late June early July.

Garden Design Intensive 2012
Spiral
Ridge Permaculture will be hosting our second 9 day Edible Forest Garden
Design Intensive with Dave Jacke and friends. We will be designing
Spiral Ridge Permaculture Gardens in this course.
The Farm, Summertown, TN
Join us for a nine-day
intensive that will empower you to start designing your own edible
ecosystems. An optional practicum will follow the course.
Intensive dates: October 5-14; Practicum dates: October 16-21 Cost for intensive is sliding scale: $1200-$1600. First 15 registered get $50 discount. Commons - A Celebration of Movements for Justice in our Region

This is our annual celebration of the struggles for
justice in our region. Join other organizers and activists from all over for
a day of networking, community building, cultural events and lots of great
food!
The Wayside Commons has been called a family reunion for resistance movements in our region. Where else can you spend a weekend with 200 of your best friends and closest organizing contacts? Come early for a day of socializing, networking, skill-sharing, music-making, creek-swimming, talking, laughing and eating. Find out who will receive the 2012 Wayside Center People’s History Award. Stay late to join in or watch the Wayside’s Got Talent Show followed by singing around the bonfire into the night.
